The fourth offering on Polena Recordings comes from a duo called Jazxing, operating in the Tri-City area of Poland. They are young DJ's and producers well known for using plenty of "live" instruments in addition to the digital means of production. Jakub was a drummer in a rocksteady band, and Mateusz played bass and keyboards in a post-punk band. Hence their wide horizons, ranging from David Bowie to Kerri Chandler, and from Holger Czukay to Black Uhuru. On their latest EP one can hear live bass, guitar and harmonica associated with disco dub rhythms ("Midnight Stand"), a tribute to the sampling techniques (clever edit of "Vopos") and a mix of classic 90's house from Chicago and NYC with one of the famous breakbeats ("The Pose"), resulting in classy, yet hypnotizing dancefloor-oriented material.
